Twice a World Champion in Superbikes, the Texas Tornado is now one of MotoGP's seasoned veterans. He joined the elite class with Aprilia in 2003 on the notoriously tough RS Cube, before a solid year on the Honda in 2004 took him into the factory Yamaha team alongside Valentino Rossi. There, Edwards rode for three seasons, finishing fourth in his first campaign with the Iwata factory. A switch to the Satellite Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team in 2008 rejuvenated him, and in 2009 Edwards took second place at a rain-soaked Donington Park on his way to fifth in the Championship standings. He is now in his third season with Tech 3 in 2010.
